Still Wilder began as Growing Wilder — a project born in 2022 from a deep belief that nature heals, that wildness restores, and that growing things — plants, people, ourselves — is one of the most quietly radical acts there is.

The name has changed. The roots haven't.

Hello, I'm Rachael Cartmell, a certified Forest Therapy Practitioner working across Lancashire and Cumbria. I work with individuals, groups, organisations, and charities to create space for something that's increasingly rare: genuine stillness in nature.

Forest Therapy

Forest Therapy isn't hiking. It isn't mindfulness with a view. It's a slow, guided practice of reconnecting with the natural world through your senses — and through that reconnection, finding your way back to yourself.

I came to this work through my own experience of what it means to need that. I won't tell you the whole story here — but I understand, from the inside, what it is to be overwhelmed, to lose yourself, and to find that trees are sometimes better listeners than people. That understanding shapes everything about how I work: trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, unhurried, and always led by you.

Still Wilder is for anyone who needs to breathe. Whether you're an individual navigating something hard, a team that's forgotten how to slow down, or an organisation looking to offer something genuinely restorative — you're welcome here.

Still here. Still growing. Still wild.
